one year

its been a year
and time its past fast
and summer
almost over
the lavender has been cut
along with my hair
wasting time
eating sweet sorbet
and wondering what to do
fresh cut green grass
at bar b q s
distractions distracted
and grandma has just recently passed
and i spend time thinking of
each moment
each day
and time passes it passes fast

reflections

last night i lay still
awake
long enough
to catch a glimpse
of dancing circles
multiple mirror reflections
on the wall

things to do

brush my teeth and go to bed
pick up all the marker tops
scrounge for scraps and wash my hands
color test with colored pencil
final drafts with fine point -black
a splash of color, a light erase
my eyes are tired
my droopy face
the bells they jingle
the sky is clear
and snow is covered over here
cold and late i think it best
to turn in now would be a test
of stregnth
the night awaits
